New additions at the locations Diemelstadt and Bielefeld: For the start of training in 2023, we welcome nine trainees in the commercial and technical fields. At the start of their training, the trainees gathered at the paper mill and got to know not only their colleagues but also the newcomers from the other departments and sites. Seven trainees from Diemelstadt and two new recruits from the mechanical engineering department in Bielefeld came together to start their training at the Diemelstadt paper mill.

Christan Elsner, Managing Director Manufacturing, started the day with a warm welcome: “It is great that you are here and want to make a change together with us. Our goal is to offer you a sound education that will make you strong for the future.” He added: “It is important for us that you know: From day one everyone is part of the team – Whether trainee, trainer or plant management is not important.“ After a short company presentation, trainers and trainees got to know each other better in a round of introductions. Last but not least the Sprick welcome package with team jumper, small gifts and coffee cup was not to be forgotten.
Close to the action
Fully equipped with personal protective equipment, it started directly: During a tour through the paper mill, the trainees were able to see the paper production live. At the Diemelstadt mill, waste paper is collected, prepared and recycled into environmentally friendly paper products. Lanouer Feriani, Head of Quality Management, explained how waste paper is first turned into paper pulp and later into Sprick paper products. At the end of the production chain, the trainees directly got to know Sprick products such as corrugated roll, FormPack and SpeedMan® paper.
After the tour and a short break for refreshments, the trainers accompanied the trainees to their departments and thus to their first working day at Papier Sprick.
A new specialisation
No training, but a one-year internship, starts Enton Kasa. The 18-year-old comes from Italy and has been living in Germany since 2020. In Italy, Enton already made his graduation at a technical institute and now wants to studies in electrical engineering with Paper Sprick at his side. In addition, he will gain experience in the company in the coming year and complete his academic degree at the same time.
Successful graduation
One trainee who has already successfully finished the training in the company is Shiar Gidir. The 27-year-old completed his training as a machine and plant operator in the field of print and paper processing with great success. Due to existing work experience, he was also able to reduce the training period from usually 2 years to half of that. Here is an insight into the interview with Schiar:
