For around three quarters of online shoppers, the environmental friendliness of packaging is important or very important. This is the result of an online survey* of over 1,000 consumers from Germany who had ordered online at least once a month.
Knowing that packaging is environmentally friendly helps more than two-thirds of online shoppers feel better about their purchases. Plastic packaging should be reduced in favor of fully recyclable packaging and should primarily consist of renewable raw materials, as is the case with corrugated board products, for example.
Packaging is also perceived by respondents as environmentally friendly if it is no larger than the goods to be packaged require. Papier Sprick therefore offers either quickly available cardboard boxes in various dimensions or the VariPack packaging system for this purpose. VariPack enables individual and cost-effective in-house production of precisely fitting corrugated board packaging on demand.
The material and energy consumption for the manufacturing process plays a major role for around half of all respondents when it comes to perceiving packaging as environmentally friendly. Products made from recovered paper, such as those manufactured and offered by Papier Sprick in compliance with ISO 50001, have a clear advantage here, as they save valuable resources compared to products made from virgin fiber papers.

In the majority of cases, there is a desire among consumers for detailed information on recyclability and sustainability printed on the packaging. The products manufactured by Papier Sprick are made from recycled waste paper from verifiable sources, are fully recyclable and FSC® certified (FSC® C151439). In addition, the filling and cushioning papers have also been awarded with the Blue Angel Label for particularly environmentally friendly products. These are suitable for the SpeedMan and PaperJet filling and padding machines, which you can use to safely protect the sales goods in the carton from damage caused by impact or slipping during transport.
Although the original ordering behavior is not directly influenced by the choice of packaging, it does result in a positive image transfer and promotes customer loyalty, as almost 40 percent said they would be more likely to order again from a store that uses environmentally friendly packaging.
Take advantage of this opportunity and switch your shipping to environmentally friendly and at the same time cost-effective materials. The packaging specialists at Papier Sprick will be happy to advise you on the selection of the right shipping material for you.
