Cleverson likes to work meticulously and has an eye for detail – perfect qualifications for the accounting team at Papier Sprick! In our interview, he reveals what other skills he finds important for his job and what he particularly likes about his work.

What do you like about your work?
I particularly appreciate the freedom to make my own decisions. A lot of trust is placed in me, but at the same time I can ask questions and ask for support at any time. As a father, I also benefit from the flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from home – this allows me to combine family and work effectively.
What skills do you need for your job?
You have to be very organised and work with meticulousness – that suits me very well! One preconception is that accounting is monotonous. However, we work on a variety of topics every day, including the accounting activities for our international sales companies. We have contact with lots of different people, so I never get bored!
How did you come to work at Papier Sprick?
I studied business administration in Brazil and came to Germany in 2017. At Papier Sprick, I first did a shortened traineeship to improve my German and learn work-related terms. I also learnt the specific aspects of accounting in Germany that differ from those in Brazil, such as tax calculation, laws, work rules and so on. The time at trade school was not always easy, but Papier Sprick supported me. Our common goal of being taken on after my training motivated me! I have now been working full-time in accounting for almost a year and am very happy.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In Brazil, I played futsal professionally, an indoor football sport. Now I play futsal as a hobby with my children and accompany them during training – that helped me a lot when I arrived in Germany!
